Dear Teacher,

While applauding the amount of effort and time it took to prepare this lesson plan, the amount of effort and time it would take to purchase all of said items for completion is beyond the realm of reason for us at this current juncture. That in and of itself should be the extent of said experiment.
Even if we were not currently living overseas and not particularly anxious about taking the tram downtown negotiating language barriers and  the transport of not one but two living creatures this is beyond the scope of normal educational  expectations.

The Spanish word for cricket is grillo but I hope that's not right because I think i may have seen that on a local menu. I am not kidding. Could grillobe slang for shrimp? Oh now I don't know. After all of this to end up with a shrimp in a plastic carton I will be heartbroken.

Having told your institution repeatedly that we are not living in-country it saddens me to yet again to resign ourselves to failure. Sadly we will not be capable of completing the assignment. Besides not wanting to purchase a carrot, apple or trying to find oatmeal in Spain (the exchange rate here is horrendous) for an animal of dubious life expectancy, --even needing to clarify via email if the oatmeal should be stone-cut, quick cook or Irish in type,-- the purchase of animal for elementary school experimentation borders on the morally bankrupt.

In closing, please review the following link for information on shipping live animals overseas. http://www.herpcenter.com/help-general/9664-transportation-reptiles.html

All the best,
Mme. Crazy
