Ordesa (11/10/12)

As I was saying :)    ....

Beloved's Bucket List involved a tour through the Pyrenees. After our fascinating short tour through Esco, we jumped back into the car and drove to Ordesa, a national park on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees. It was sort of going back and forth between raining and not raining, and we had moments of wondering if we were going to regret spending one of our last few free Saturdays going to the mountains in the cold cloudy and rainy season.

This was a dam that we found off of the side of the highway. Had to investigate.

I think Beloved would call this a Death Fall

Hollaback Goat!

Is that what I think it is?

Nighttime view.

Our dinner stop. The restaurante was empty except for us (it was only 6pm after all ;) but the proprietors opened up the bar and we had some delicious sandwiches and some hot coffee to warm us up for the long drive back. The proprietor looked like a Spanish Dick Van Dyke; dressed in a sweater vest and tie with a full head of thick silver hair. He stood and chatted with us throughout the meal. Entirely in Spanish, and I was impressed with how much we were able to really understand. We had such a pleasant time that I wanted to purchase one of the dinner plates with the Hotel logo on it, but the proprietor's wife refused to let me pay :).
(www.hotelgiral.com and tell them the crazy Americans sent you)
It was a beautiful day. One more for the memory books :)
