Surf Sand sometimes Sun

hold your breath....

Moto Guzzi...made famous for us Americans by the miniseries Long Way Round ...Italian motorcycle manufacturers...had to get the shot.

Can you see the lemons at the top of the shrub> Hard to catch from a moving car...Tank pointed them out to me.
Italian Coastline heading back to Spain.

Beautiful lilac flowers

It's just a really cool house.

San Remo, Italy. Just a short rest break.

also called Tri Ponti or La Scaletta

Apparently a popular surfing destination for Europeans.

Peace Love and Sun

We watched about 4 or 5 men in a row walk along this rocky outcropping. They would stand on the very tip of the crop and with precise timing jump onto the incoming wave and paddle/ride the swell down out into the water. It was pure magic to witness.

San Remo was an exquisitely beautiful space to visit. I could have stayed all day and watched them negotiate the waves. The surf seemed fairly high and consistent with a long tailing decline, and it was fascinating to watch the surfers  take turns one after the other dive under the wave to catch the next wave.

One week later...The Spanish coastline outside of Zarautz, Spain....

The waves on Zauratz outside of San Sebastian were much more intense and violent.  Higher  surf and faster speeds contributed to a much more intimidating experience.

Did not see as many surfers make successful rides, but saw many of them get munched by the water, too.
